Building the future of healthcare for our community
The Seven(7) Big Agenda Transformation Initiative which is spearheaded by our CEO Prof. John K. Mungania is a forward-thinking project aimed at addressing the growing healthcare needs of our community. As the demand for high-quality healthcare increases, so too does the pressure on our existing infrastructure. The 7 focus areas outlined in this initiative are designed to address critical gaps, improve patient care, and support the hospital's long-term sustainability.
Every aspect of this initiative focuses on improving patient experience, from streamlined workflows to welcoming spaces that promote healing.
To enhance and expand healthcare services at MMH through strategic initiatives that address critical needs in surgical, diagnostic, educational, and supportive areas. These initiatives aim to significantly improve patient outcomes, increase operational efficiency, and contribute to the long-term health and well-being of the community.
To create a state-of-the-art healthcare facility that meets the evolving needs of our community. By expanding our services and infrastructure, we aim to ensure that every individual has access to comprehensive, compassionate care that is both high-quality and locally accessible.
Due to population growth and rising healthcare needs, the demand for surgeries at MMH has increased significantly. With only two operating theatres, wait times have grown longer, delaying critical care for our community. Expanding our capacity will help reduce delays and improve patient outcomes—but we can’t do it alone
We urgently need volunteer surgical specialists to assist in meeting this demand. Whether for elective procedures or emergency cases, your expertise can make a life-changing difference. By joining our efforts, you’ll help ensure timely, high-quality care for those who need it most.
If you’re a surgeon or specialist willing to donate your time and skills, we would deeply appreciate your support. Together, we can strengthen healthcare access for our growing community.
While we currently offer ultrasound and X-ray services, advanced diagnostics are increasingly needed. Adding CT-Scans, MRIs, and other imaging tools will enable faster, more accurate diagnoses. Patients won't need to travel long distances for these services, reducing both financial burdens and treatment delays while improving outcomes.
Our current funeral home services are limited and provide basic options. However, we recognize that families going through the loss of a loved one need more than just logistical support—they require compassionate care and comprehensive services. By developing a full-service funeral home, MMH will be able to provide a one-stop solution for families, offering everything from embalming and coffin provision to hearse services and grief support. This initiative will not only relieve families from the stress of handling funeral logistics but will also ensure that the entire process is carried out with dignity and respect.
Patient and staff safety is of paramount importance, and with the growing demand for services at MMH, security concerns have increased. A secure and well-maintained perimeter wall will act as a deterrent against unauthorized access and provide a safer environment for both patients and healthcare providers. Additionally, the perimeter wall will reduce the risk of theft, vandalism, and other security issues that could affect the hospital’s operations. By improving security, we can offer peace of mind to all patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring a safe environment for care and healing.
Currently, MMH’s University College offers only a limited number of healthcare programs. However, the increasing demand for healthcare professionals has highlighted the need to expand educational offerings to include more specialized courses. Expanding our educational programs will help cultivate the next generation of healthcare workers, including nurses, medical technicians, and doctors. By enhancing our infrastructure and expanding our academic staff, we will be able to provide students with the skills and practical experience needed to serve the growing needs of the healthcare sector. This expansion will also help address staffing shortages, ensuring that our hospital remains fully staffed with highly trained professionals who are committed to providing exceptional care.
The outpatient department (OPD) is the first point of contact for many patients, and as patient volumes continue to grow, it is essential that this area is functional, welcoming, and accessible. Currently, the OPD suffers from inadequate parking, poor signage, and an inefficient layout, making it difficult for patients to navigate the hospital grounds. By upgrading the OPD area, including the installation of cabros and providing more organized parking, we will improve the patient experience. These changes will ensure that patients can access the services they need with ease, leading to quicker treatment and improved satisfaction.
As part of our upcoming initiatives, we plan to upgrade our ISO-accredited laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment—including advanced blood culture machines—to further enhance the accuracy and reliability of patient diagnostics. Additionally, we aim to obtain ISO certification for new areas of testing.
MMH serves a wide region where many patients travel long distances for care. These journeys incur high costs and delay treatment. By enhancing our facilities, we'll make quality healthcare more accessible, improving outcomes across our community.
We invite partners, donors, and well-wishers to support this transformative vision. Your contribution will directly impact lives and help build a healthier future.
